The Structure of the Villa

Ground Floor

The large entrance hall gives access to the living area of the Villa, composed of a cosy living room equipped with dining area, and the typical spacious Sicilian masonry kitchen.

First Floor

The upper floor of the house opens onto a large living room, furnished with fine Sicilian furniture from the beginning of the 20th century, giving access to the 4 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin and 2 singles. The distinctive roofs of the Villa display original wooden beams.

Double Room

This room is furnished with a double bed, wardrobe and a dresser, and features a balcony overlooking the courtyard of the Villa, with a view on the countryside and up to the sea.

Twin room

The twin room, with two single beds (that can be joined to make a double bed) and a dresser, has two small windows, giving the room a romantic feel.

Single rooms

The two single rooms are small but functional, featuring a bed, wardrobe and dresser. Both are very bright, as one has a small private terrace and the other a large window.

Exteriors

The exterior of the Villa is a Mediterranean oasis of peace and well-being. The large green terrace with masonry kitchen, barbecue, wood-burning oven, armchairs and tables allows guests to enjoy open air throughout the day, from breakfast to dinner.
The lawn surrounding the house is ideal for relaxing, chatting, reading or sleeping in the shade of lemon trees.
The organic vegetable garden is always at hand when trying new recipes.

Raffaello's place is a "must experience" when you visit Sicily. The photos don't do the villa justice because the photos can't show the villa in all of its grandeur. Raffaello, his sister, mother and father were the best hosts we have had in all of our Airbnb experience . We appreciated the fresh homemade bread and pastries, we were immediately offered fresh fruit and wine meats, cheese and more! They communicated immediately. I highly recommend this villa for you next Airbnb. You will fall in love with this well preserved medieval home fit for a king. Palermo is less than 25 minutes away. Segesta's Greek temple is awe inspiring and and the local beaches stunning!!

It’s hard to put into words what kind of an unforgettable experience we had at villa Speciale. Firstly the house transports you back into time and feels like you’re walking into an Italian classic movie. It’s an Italian dream house where you can totally unwind and be surrounded by so much beauty in and outside the villa. Taking a shower outside in the morning having breakfast on the patio surrounded by bird sounds, going to the nearby beach and then returning home to bake pizza in the wood oven and falling asleep underneath the stars! On top of that Raffaello and his family welcomed us with gifts, amazing food and all smiles. They even filled the whole kitchen with all kinds of yummy stuff for breakfast. During our stay they literally did everything they could to make it a dream holiday and we will never forget it. Grazie mille!

This was the most phenomenal experience that one could ever hope for. The house is breathtaking - you’re surrounded by history yet feeling completely at home. Rafaello and his family are the embodiment of Italian hospitality and the night we spend together eating and drinking wine was absolutely beautiful. Our puppy enjoyed the garden even more than we did. We will definitely be back!
